Staffordshire County Council has set a target of repairing 40,000 potholes by 31 March 2027, and A Little Bit of Stone wants to hear which parts of the town residents believe need attention next.

The question comes after work was recently completed around the roundabouts beside the Whitebridge Estate, while a separate improvement programme is now under way around Stone town centre.
The town centre scheme includes Stafford Street, Crown Street, Newcastle Street, Station Road, Granville Square, Christchurch Way and Radford Street. It is currently scheduled to continue until Friday 23 October.
The county council says its wider pothole programme is being supported by £15 million of additional highways investment over two years.
Fourteen new crews are being used to help tackle problems across Staffordshire, while different repair methods, including screeding and urban velocity patching, will be selected depending on the location and condition of each road.
A total of 4,655 defects were repaired across the county during June, according to the council.
The programme will place particular emphasis on category three defects. These do not require the immediate response given to the most serious road hazards but can still cause problems for drivers, cyclists and residents.
Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Strategic Highways, Peter Mason, said
“With this in place, we hope that residents will see a real difference in their communities, and motorists will benefit from better journeys around the county.”
Where should crews focus in Stone?
Which Stone roads, junctions or residential streets do you think should be prioritised?
Perhaps there is a particular stretch where the surface is breaking up, several potholes have appeared close together or previous repairs have not lasted.
Let us know the road name and, where possible, the exact section that is causing concern.
