Four people have been referred to youth offending services after a girl was attacked by a big group of people in Stone.
The victim was walking in Westbridge Park, Stafford Street, at about 4.30pm on Wednesday 5th March when she was approached by a group of around 20 young people.
The victim, aged 15, was punched, kicked and slapped.
Local officers have been supporting her as much as possible and have launched an investigation to act against those responsible for the assault.
A 16-year-old girl, from Stone, was arrested on suspicion of assault and false imprisonment. She has been bailed with conditions.
Other boys and girls, aged between 11 and 15, were voluntarily interviewed.
After reviewing all of the evidence and speaking with the victim and her family, officers referred the 16-year-old girl who was arrested to youth offending services, along with three other young people.
Measures were also put in place to further protect the victim from harm.
Staffordshire Police have said:
“We are determined to do everything we can to protect local communities from harm in Staffordshire.
Acts of violence will never be tolerated, and those responsible will be dealt with accordingly.”
