Stone Town Council have extended the accessibility of the free bus service to neighbouring Post Offices
For those not familiar, the town council is providing a free bus service to local Post Offices on one day per week following the closure of the Post Office on Stone High Street.
The bus will now be available to any resident, of any age, who is finding it difficult to get to a Post Office. This includes, for example, elderly and disabled residents, residents who do not have access to a car or residents who simply cannot afford the additional cost of travelling to a Post Office outside town. If in doubt, please contact the Town Council on 01785 619740 for further advice.
The service is operated by “Green Bus” community transport, and runs every Tuesday. Services are initially to Yarnfield Post Office up to the end of February, but will subsequently be to Tittensor Post Office during March, Barlaston Post Office in April, and Swynnerton Post Office in May, before returning to Yarnfield in June to restart the monthly cycle.
The bus picks up near to the Town Council offices in Station Road. Pick up times are 8:30am, 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:00pm. There is no need to book a place in advance.
