Fillybrooks Service Station in Newcastle Road can now sell alcohol between 6am and midnight after Stafford Borough Council’s licensing sub-committee approved an application.
The original application from owner Motor Fuel Ltd was to sell alcohol 24 hours a day. But an objection to this original application was received from Staffordshire Police, who argued that the potential 24-hour sale of alcohol could undermine the licensing objective relating to crime and disorder.
Following discussions with the applicant, the operating hours relating to alcohol were reduced to 6am-midnight and the police withdrew their objection.
Sixteen letters of objection were sent to the council.
