Alcohol ban lifted for royal street party

Prince William and Kate Middleton

People can take their own alcohol to the royal wedding street party in Stone on Friday.

The High Street and surrounding areas are usually an ‘alcohol restriction zone’, which means the police can confiscate any alcohol being drunk in the streets (apart from outside licensed premises like The Crown Hotel and The Lounge).

However, Stone Town Council has obtained a licence for street drinking for the big party, meaning party-goers can raise a glass of their own to the royal couple.

Cheers!

There’s a rundown of entertainment for the street party here.

A Little Bit of Stone will be taking lots of pictures on the day but please feel free to share yours, either by sending to pictures@alittlebitofstone.com or by posting on A Little Bit of Stone’s Facebook page.

Enjoy the party!
