The town mayor and mayoress invite residents to a fun-filled evening at Stone Golf Club
Stone’s mayor, Councillor Philip Leason, and mayoress Edith Leason are gearing up to host a fun charity pig race evening at Stone Golf Club on Friday, 7th March 2025. The event promises a mix of entertainment, friendly competition, and fundraising, all in support of the mayor’s chosen local charities.
An evening of fun and fundraising
The races will kick off at 7:30 pm, with guests encouraged to arrive from 7:00 pm. Attendees will have the chance to place small bets on a series of pig races, with prizes up for grabs for the most successful punters.
All proceeds from the evening will go towards three vital community organisations:
- Stone Community First Responders – supporting local emergency response efforts
- Stone Alzheimer’s Club – providing assistance for those affected by Alzheimer’s
- Stone Stroke Club – helping individuals recovering from strokes
Tickets are priced at £13 per person, which includes a pork bap and chip supper. Vegetarian options will be available, and organisers will accommodate any special dietary requirements upon request.
Support the cause
Guests are encouraged to bring small change to place bets throughout the night, with all funds going directly to the supported charities.
Tickets can be booked for those interested in attending by emailing clerk@stonetowncouncil.gov.uk.
This is a great opportunity for the community to come together, have some fun, and support important local causes. Will your pig cross the finish line first?
