Free legal advice talk on later life planning to be held at Stone Library

A free legal advice talk covering later life planning is due to take place at Stone Library later this month.

“Tax Care & The New Guy.” It’s a friendly, down-to-earth talk that covers some really important topics including Wills & Trusts – making sure your assets go (1)

The session will be held on Monday 20 April 2026, with booking essential.

About the event

Silvertime Legal is set to lead the talk at Stone Library in Market Square, giving people the chance to hear practical information on some of the issues that often come up later in life planning.

The session starts at 11.30 am on Monday 20 April 2026 at Stone Library, High Street, Stone, ST15 8AT.

According to the organisers, the talk will last around 40 minutes, with extra time afterwards for questions.

Topics due to be covered include wills and trusts, lasting powers of attorney, care fees, and what is known as sideways disinheritance, where remarriage can have an unexpected impact on inheritance plans.

Silvertime Legal says the event is intended to be clear and easy to follow, even for people who may not have dealt with these subjects before.

What people can expect

In information shared ahead of the event, the organisers describe it as “a friendly, down to earth discussion” focused on useful legal topics that can often feel daunting at first glance.

They add that there will be “no sales pitch, handouts, or leaflets”, with the session instead aimed at giving straightforward information and the chance to ask questions.

The firm says it has previously delivered similar talks to groups including the WI, U3A and PROBUS.

Booking details

The event is free to attend, but places need to be booked in advance.

Anyone who would like to go can contact Stone Library on 01785 895585 or email stone.library@staffordshire.gov.uk to book a place.

For local people, it is one of those sessions that may be worth noting down, especially if wills, powers of attorney or care costs are things you have been meaning to look into but have never quite got round to.
