The cast, who range seven to 18 years of age, are set to wow audience members with their renditions of timeless classics and modern favourites. Amazingly, this production is put together in as little as 13 Sunday rehearsals.

Since its inception in 1975, the show has been overseen by Girlguiding veteran Maureen Recine.

Speaking during one of the final rehearsals, Maureen said: “The show is a fantastic opportunity for the girls to really build their confidence. They all behave like true professionals on stage and the smiles on the girls’ faces make all the hard work worthwhile. Girlguiding is all about giving girls and young women a voice. We’re certainly achieving that here!”

‘A Handful of Songs 2012’ is at Stoke-on-Trent Repertory Theatre, in Leek Road, Shelton, from Tuesday 10th to Saturday 14th April each night, with a Saturday matinee performance. Tickets are available now from tickets@handfulofsongs.org.uk or 01785 760682.
