Family’s thank you for community support

The son and daughter of the elderly couple who lost their lives in the tragic house fire in Stone in September have thanked people in the town for their support.

Peter Goffe, 86, and his wife Beryl, 85, died in a tragic accident at their Lichfield Road home on 24th September that is thought to have been caused by a wardrobe light fitting.

Their son Simon Goffe and daughter Jane Ashley said:

“Following the tragic events of September 24th, we’d like to express our thanks to Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Staffordshire Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service & HM Coroner’s Office. Also, to family, neighbours and friends for their kind words and thoughts.On October 3rd we laid them to rest, in death as in life together. Our thanks to you all.”
