Local Scout group seeks new volunteers

After a period of upheaval, the 1st Stone Scouts are looking forward to returning to their usual home – The Old Pumphouse on Westbridge Park – and need enthusiastic adult volunteers to fill various vacancies within the group. Volunteers are essential in being able to continue providing an exciting and varied programme of activities to Stone’s young people.

A spokesperson for the group told A Little Bit of Stone:

“We would love to hear from anyone interested in joining the Beaver and Scout Section Teams to support with the planning and delivery of the weekly programme and ensure the smooth running of section nights.

In addition, the Group is seeking individuals to join its Board of Trustees – a team of volunteers who work together to make sure Scouts is run safely and legally. Those with an interest or background in health and safety, finance, and building maintenance would be particularly welcome to get in touch.

Volunteering goes both ways, though – it boosts wellbeing and develops CV-friendly skills, not to mention building memories and making friends. “

If you’re interested in joining our Scouting family, please contact Kerry Dawson, Group Lead Volunteer, at gsl@firststonescouts.org.uk to arrange an informal chat and find out more.
