Stone narrowboat adventurer Terry Darlington, author of the bestselling Narrow Dog To Carcossonne, will be launching his new book in the town in June.
Narrow Dog To Wigan Pier chronicles his inland waterway expedition to the North of England with wife Monica and their dogs Jim and Jess in new boat Phyllis May 2. The book also deals with the loss of the original Phyllis May, which was lost to a fire.
The launch event is at Aston Marina on Saturday 23rd June between 4pm and 7pm. There will be a buffet, bar, book signing and a chance to get on board Phyllis May 2.
Terry said: “The new book is different to the others in some ways – it deals with the fire that destroyed the Phyllis May and then our journeys round the North of England in the PM2. There is a lot of reminiscence and memoirs – the war, Oxford, London, Canada, Stone, business, overseas, running – my dears the truth, the shame.
But at heart it is the same old travel book with hostile waters and reluctant whippets, and hopefully plenty of laughs. We look forward to seeing lots of old friends at Aston, and family, and of course lots of fans.”

just finished you latest book and must say i have enjoyed every one of your books so many thanks to you both and not forgetting jim and jess . they brought memories of a vet we knew and used to visit and breed whippets it seemed like there were hundreds all over the place great little dogs fondest bunt
