Oktoberfest Stone will take place on Saturday 3 October, running from 2pm until 10pm with beer, street food, live music and entertainment planned throughout the afternoon and evening.

Stone is already familiar with Oktoberfest celebrations, with The Wren on the High Street and Lymestone Brewery among local venues to have previously held their own events. This latest addition will take the festivities to Westbridge Park for an eight hour event organised by the team behind the annual Stone Food & Drink Festival.

Local breweries and bars will be supplying a selection of beers, while wine, fizz, cocktails and other drinks will also be available. Street food traders will be on site, with details of the music line up, bars and food businesses due to be announced closer to October.

Stone Food & Drink Festival board member Ed Stant said

“We’re incredibly excited to bring this brand-new event to Stone. Our annual food and drink festival has shown just how much appetite there is for great events that bring people together, support local businesses and create a real buzz around the town.

“Oktoberfest Stone will build on that community spirit while offering something completely new – a fantastic opportunity to get together with friends, enjoy great food and drink and celebrate right in the heart of Stone.”

Tickets must be bought in advance, with none available on the gate. Standard admission costs £20 plus booking fee, while VIP tickets are £25 plus booking fee and include access to a dedicated area with guaranteed seating.

Carer tickets are available at a 50 per cent discount when accompanying a full paying guest, with proof such as Carer’s Allowance, Carer’s Credit, a Nimbus Card or Access Card accepted.

Key points

The event is strictly for those aged 18 and over and Challenge 25 will be in operation. Gates open at 2pm, with last entry at 9pm. Anyone leaving during the event will be able to return using a hand stamp.

Visitors should also travel light, as all bags will be searched on arrival and must be no larger than A4 size. Outside food and drink cannot be brought onto the site, other than for medical requirements.

There is no official event parking at Westbridge Park, so visitors are being encouraged to use public transport, nearby public car parks, taxis or arrange a designated driver.

With the event taking place on grass and beneath open sided marquees, organisers are also advising people to dress for the October weather and wear sensible footwear. Pets are not permitted, although registered assistance dogs are welcome.

Anyone with specific access requirements is advised to contact the organisers before booking.

Last orders will be at 9.15pm, with drinks served until 9.30pm before the event closes at 10pm.

Tickets and further information are available from the Oktoberfest Stone website.
