An investigation is under way after more than 100 fish were found dead in the Trent and Mersey Canal in Stone.
The Canal and River Trust and the Environment Agency worked on Wednesday to oxygenate the stretch of canal at the Meaford top lock. The Environment Agency in the West Midlands tweeted today that oxygen levels were improving.

It’s not yet known what has caused the deaths. The canal is open as normal for boaters.
