Stone 2020 Virtual Christmas Lights Switch On Video

At 6:50pm on Thursday 19th November, A Little Bit of Stone will premiere Stone Town Council’s virtual Christmas lights switch on video as a way to welcome Christmas to Stone.

As the grand High Street Christmas light turn on was cancelled this year, Stone Town Council collaborated with 2 Staffordshire University students, Olivia Bethell and Amber Mottershead, to put together this virtual switch on video.

Submissions came in from families, schools and groups from across Stone – drone footage was also shot by Jose Camacho from The Mill Restaurant. The 10-minute video features the Christmas wishes from some of those who submitted videos as well as the grand switch on from Father Christmas and Dolly Daydream.

Stone Tourism and Town Promotion Chairman Councillor Jill Hood said

“I’m looking forward to the video and watching the lights switch-on. It would have been a sad time if we couldn’t have celebrated our Christmas Lights and I think it’s great that we will keep a sense of normality with
what the students have done for the town.”
