Stone community invited to Civic Sunday parade and service

Stone’s Civic Sunday parade and church service will take place on Sunday 12 July 2026, with residents invited to join the procession through the town centre.

A previous Civic Sunday parade makes its way along Stone High Street, led by drummers and standard bearers.

The parade will begin to assemble in Station Road, ST15 8JP, at 10.30am, ready to move off at 10.45am.

Those taking part will proceed along Station Road and High Street to the Parish Church of St Michael and St Wulfad, Stone, ST15 8BD, where the morning service will begin at 11am.

Guests and members of the public who wish to join the parade and attend the church service are asked to assemble outside 15 Station Road at 10.30am.

Civic dignitaries and a cadet take part in a previous Civic Sunday parade in Stone town centre.

The service will include the symbolic “passing of the chain” between the previous Town Mayor and Deputy and the current holders of the roles.

Road closures will be in place for the event.

Station Road through to the crossing over to the High Street will be closed from 8am to 10.45am.

Stone High Street will be closed from 8am to 4.30pm.

Lichfield Street through to the crossing at the lower end of High Street onto Church Street will be closed from 10.30am to 11am, with traffic held while the parade makes its way to church.
