Stone Master Marathoners is inviting local runners to join an open evening run later this month in support of the national Let’s Lift the Curfew campaign.

The club will hold its Let’s Lift the Curfew Easy Monday Run on Monday 26 October, meeting at 6pm at Little Stoke Cricket Club in Stone.
The event is open to everyone, with people from Stone and the surrounding area invited to take part.
Let’s Lift the Curfew was launched by Sport England’s This Girl Can campaign in 2023 to highlight the ways concerns about safety can affect women exercising outdoors after dark.
England Athletics is supporting the campaign again in 2026, with clubs and running groups around the country encouraged to hold activities around the time the clocks go back on Sunday 25 October.
Stone Master Marathoners said concerns around harassment and assault can deter women from running during the darker winter months, and the Stone run aims to raise awareness of those barriers.
The club normally meets at Little Stoke Cricket Club for a number of its weekly running sessions.
Anyone who would like to join the Let’s Lift the Curfew run can message Stone Master Marathoners on Facebook, or head to Little Stoke Cricket Club for 6pm on Monday 26 October.
Those taking part are also encouraged to tag their Strava activity with #LetsLiftTheCurfew to help raise awareness of the campaign.
