A group of ramblers from Stone are flying out to Mallorca later this month to explore the mountain trails of the Serra de Tramuntana.
Away from its popular holiday resorts, there is another, more rugged and traditional side of the island. Running along the island’s north-western coastline, the spectacular 50-mile chain of the Serra de Tramuntana is crossed by mountain trails and old drove roads that link medieval villages like Valldemossa, Deia, Soller and Escorca. It also boasts some of the highest Mallorcan summits, most notably Puig Tomir and Puig de Massanella (1382m).
Members of Stone Ramblers will be in Mallorca from 9th to 16th September. It’s the highlight of a packed September programme that, a bit closer to home, takes in walks including Shugborough Park, the Wrekin, Cannock Chase and the Staffordshire Way.
