Where to get your poppy in Stone as the 2026 Poppy Appeal gets underway

Residents looking to support this year’s Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal have plenty of places to pick up a poppy, with shops, pubs and businesses across Stone and the surrounding villages taking part.

The annual appeal raises money to support serving members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families, with this year’s national campaign having launched on Thursday 22 October.

Supporting this year’s appeal

The Royal British Legion does not set a fixed donation amount for its standard poppies, asking people to give whatever they can afford.

Money raised through the appeal helps the charity provide support to serving personnel, veterans and their families, including assistance with financial hardship, bereavement and other difficulties.

Last year’s Stone Poppy Appeal raised £34,482.61, according to local volunteer Dave Babb, who recently spoke to A Little Bit of Stone about the work of the town’s Royal British Legion branch.

Residents can read more about the Stone branch’s appeal for members and volunteers.

This year’s Remembrance Sunday commemorations take place on Sunday 8 November, with services planned in Stone and Walton.

Details of the parade, services and Armistice Day arrangements are available in our guide to Stone’s 2026 Remembrance events.
