6th generation local funfair operator, Warwicks, are bringing a COVID Secure funfair to Stone’s Westbridge Park over the next two weeks.
Having submitted a COVID secure risk assessment to Stafford Borough Council, Warwicks Funfairs are looking to bring some safe family fun into Stone in September.
The funfair opens on Thursday the 17th September and will be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week and the same days of the week the following week, 24th September onwards – finally closing Sunday 27th September.
Opening Times:
- Thursday/Fridays – 6pm until 8:30pm-9:00pm
- Saturdays – 2pm until 8:30pm-9:00pm
- Sundays – 2pm until 6:00pm-7:00pm
The funfairs have been a staple of Stone life, however, in the current climate along with the likes of theme parks, things will be slightly different.
Warwicks Funfairs told A Little Bit of Stone about their COVID secure procedures for the fair:
- The fairground will be fenced with a designated entrance and exit system.
- Face masks will be compulsory for everyone entering the site and MUST be worn when walking around the site and on rides – under 11’s and those exempt from wearing a mask can attend and ride.
- Hand sanitizer stations will be available on each ride.
- Social distancing will be in force on rides with seats left free.
- A one-way system and marked out queuing will be in operation.
- All rides will be token-based to reduce limit cash exchanges between ride attendants and riders.
- A track and trace system will be in place which attendees must complete.
- All rides will be treated with Zoono – a disinfectant which creates a micro shield.
- Rides will be deep cleaned every day with regular cleaning of high contact areas.

This is ridiculous under current Covid circumstances and will only encourage trouble.
I own a classic car, we were due to display it at a show in Staffordshire, which had everything in place to make it Covid secure.
Stafford Borough Council refused to let it go ahead.
How can the council allow this event and not the other!
