Monday 19th August will see young riders from across Staffordshire attend a Young Biker BBQ at Bryan’s BMW Rider Training School at the bet365 Stadium.
Organised by the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP), the event offers young bikers as the

opportunity to access information from motorcycling professionals, as well as a free burger!
The event, will also have stands offering advice to young riders. Older bikers are encouraged to bring young riders along to the event and if accompanied by younger bikers can claim their burger too. People will also have the opportunity to win prizes and receive instruction and advice from Motorcycle Trainers.
Speaking on behalf of the partnership, Cabinet Member for Highways at Staffordshire County Council Helen Fisher said: “Keeping our roads safe is one of our top priorities and this includes helping our bikers to improve their riding skills.
“Bikers only represent around 1 per cent of all traffic on our roads but unfortunately they make up 28 per cent of those killed or seriously injured. That’s why it’s important we reach out to them through events like this to make sure they have the skills and know-how to keep themselves and other road users safe.
“Young riders are particularly vulnerable, so this is a great opportunity for them to not only meet other bikers over a burger but to get an update on the latest initiatives and training opportunities.”
The partnership are also offering potential young bikers aged 15 to 21 the opportunity to receive a £50 voucher off their Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) course when they attend a workshop. The Pre-CBT workshops are held monthly from Sandyford, Burton and Cannock Fire Stations with the next workshop at Sandyford Fire Station on Wednesday 21st August from 6.15pm to 9pm. People interested in attending can sign up at the BBQ or call 07855 336922.
