Co-op has given A Little Bit of Stone an exclusive update on its new Lichfield Road store in Stone, with the opening now scheduled for the end of October.
The update follows recent signs appearing on the construction fencing at the site, including banners saying the new FoodCoop is “opening soon” and that recruitment is under way.
Co-op had previously told A Little Bit of Stone that the store was aiming to open during the summer. The latest update now points to a later autumn opening, although an exact date has not yet been announced.
In the update provided to A Little Bit of Stone, we can reveal that the new Stone store will offer a range of services alongside everyday groceries, including quality food to go, an in-store bakery, customer toilets with baby changing facilities, and a bike repair station.
Co-op has also confirmed that it still plans to hold a “Get to Know Your Co-op” session before the store opens.
The session will give local residents the chance to meet the team, find out more about the shop, and learn about OurCoop membership benefits.
A date and venue for the session have not yet been confirmed, but Co-op says it is expected to take place in mid October, leading up to the opening.
The Lichfield Road parade has been closely followed by readers, particularly after months of slower progress at the site.
