Staffordshire Road Crime Team said checks showed the driver held a provisional licence, but the vehicle had no L plates displayed and there was no qualified person present to supervise them.

Officers also said further checks found the front nearside tyre was below the legal limit.

The vehicle was seized, a PG9 prohibition notice was issued, and the driver was reported.

A PG9 notice is used when a vehicle is considered unroadworthy or unsafe to continue being driven until the issue has been dealt with.
