Conservatives in control at town council

The Conservative Party is in control at Stone Town Council following the elections on Thursday 5th May as the party took 14 of the 18 seats.

It was a big victory for the party as they doubled their representation on the town council. The other four seats were taken by Stone’s Independent Voice (3) and Labour (1).

  • All five seats were taken by the party in the St Michael’s ward, with Philip Jones coming out on top
  • In Stonefield & Christchurch, there are now three Conservative councillors and two from Stone’s Independent Voice – 2010/11 mayor Rob Kenney and Jacqueline Nelson
  • In Walton, there are now six Conservative councillors, with Jill Hood (Stone’s Independent Voice) and Harry Brunt (the only Labour councillor now sitting on Stone Town Council) taking the other seats.
