Stone Town Council have unveiled a new town map, an events calendar and business directory for display in and around the town

Large versions of the map will be displayed in Stone High Street along with a business directory for visitors to the town to read. The town map will also appear in other targeted areas in and around the town.

The map highlights various places of interest within the town and will be a welcome addition for newcomers to the town.

We’ve created a little video to show you some of the detail on the map and can’t wait to see it full size, in the flesh!

Alongside the map will be a calendar of events for the remainder of 2018, watch out for “Stone-by-the-Sea” in August!

We will publish more detailed event information when the council issues the individual press releases.

Stone Town Centre Business Directory

The Stone Traders Group and it’s members have created a business directory to dovetail with the new map.  The new directory will highlight the various offerings within Stone Town Centre as well as an indication on where to find the shops.

These new additions come as part of a phase of investment in Stone Town Centre.

Visitor information boards and ‘finger’ posts (those signs pointing the direction of key attractions) are, with the support of Stafford Borough Council,  being refurbished and relocated.

Cllr Ian Fordham, Chairman of the Council’s Estates Sub-Committee, said:

“We want the town centre recognised as a noted leisure destination. These initiatives will help ensure that residents and visitors can enjoy the town to the maximum.”

Speaking about the calendar of events, Cllr Jill Hood, Chairman of the Tourism and Town Promotion
Sub-Committee, said:

“The Calendar outlines all our upcoming events. There is something for everyone taking place in and around the town centre: highly regarded festivals, cultural and heritage events as well as family attractions. We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors alike to enjoy everything that Stone has to offer.”
