Stall applications open for Stone Christmas Lights Switch On

Businesses and local registered charities are being invited to apply for stalls at this year’s Stone Christmas Lights Switch On.

The Plane Tree - Stone Christmas Lights 2025

Stone Town Council says a limited number of pitches will be available on the High Street for the event on Thursday 19 November 2026, which runs from 5pm until 7pm.

Businesses can use the stalls to sell their products, while registered charities whose work benefits Stone and its residents can use them for fundraising and to promote their work.

Charities are encouraged to provide an activity at their stall, such as a tombola, lucky dip or game. Anyone planning an activity involving a game of chance will need to check with Stafford Borough Council’s Licensing Section whether a permit is required. Where one is needed, a copy must be supplied to Stone Town Council before a stall is allocated.

Each pitch will measure 2.25 metres by 3 metres and will be covered and illuminated.

Business traders will be charged £40, including VAT and table hire. There is no charge for eligible registered charities.

All stallholders must have current public liability insurance providing at least £5 million of cover.

Traders will be able to set up from 2.30pm on the day, with pitches required to be vacated by 8pm.

Applications close on Friday 23 October 2026.

Applications can be made through Stone Town Council’s online application form.
