Stone marks VE Day

The High Street was full of music, memories and a proper sense of pride this evening as we came together to mark 80 years since Victory in Europe Day.

From the beautiful sounds of the Florence Brass Band to the stirring performances by Stone Choral Society, it was an evening to remember.

We had hymns, prayers, a wreath-laying, and a beacon being lit at the top of the High Street. People of all ages stood side by side in silence, remembering what this date really means. It was a proper Stone moment.

A big thank you to everyone who made it happen, from the Town Council to the brilliant musicians, speakers, and of course everyone who came along and took part. Seeing the town lit up and coming together like that really was something special.
