Stone prepares for Civic Sunday parade and service

Civic Sunday returns this weekend as the town comes together to celebrate Stone’s civic life and community spirit.

Taking place on Sunday, 13th July 2025, the annual event will see the Town Mayor, Mayoress and councillors lead a formal parade through the town centre, joined by local organisations and invited guests, ahead of a special service at St Michael and St Wulfad’s Church.

The parade will assemble on Station Road and move off at 10:30am, travelling via the High Street to the church. Members of the public are welcome to attend and line the route or join the congregation at the service.

Road closures will be in place at the following times to support the event:

  • Station Road through to the High Street crossing: 8:00am to 10:45am
  • High Street: 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Lichfield Street through to Church Street crossing: traffic held between 10:30am and 11:00am

Civic Sunday has long been part of the town’s traditions and remains an opportunity to reflect on the role of public service and show support for those who contribute to the life of the town.
