About the show

This production takes challenging literature and tosses in a good helping of humour to create a silly comedy with a few life lessons along the way.

A small troupe of dedicated cast members (including the director himself!) will multi-role, transforming into characters infant of your eyes with multiple prop and costume changes – let the hilarity ensue!

It is said that Chaucer’s literary masterpiece revolutionised English literature, and in this fast-paced, modern and hilarious adaptation, you’ll meet many of the pilgrims who tell his tales. The Wife of Bath who has cleaned up her act for this adaptation and is now selling self-help DVDs. The parson, the pardoner, and friar join in for the fun as well, telling their tales. The Miller makes an appearance too, though nobody wants to hear anything he has to say!

In true Stone Revellers fashion, St Michaels Hall will be transformed into a magical theatre space, with unreserved cabaret-style seating, with a pie and pea supper served in the interval.

Seating is unreserved, cabaret style, with a pie and pea supper (plus chips for the table!) at the interval included as part of your ticket price. Drinks will be served to your seat, and we accept cash and card payments.

Tickets are £16.50 (including your food!), there are no concessions available for this show, and there is no matinee.

Stone Revellers - Canterbury TalesStone Revellers

Stone Revellers Musical Theatre is the longest-running theatre group in Stone. They’ve been performing in the town since 1978 and until the pandemic, hadn’t missed a year.

They’re ran by, and for their members – there are over 100 Revellers who range from aged 6 to 90! And they warmly welcome more members at almost every single show.

The membership isn’t just about performers either; some people love to help with the technical side, set building, costume, collecting tickets and the million other things that go on behind the scenes.

‘Revs’ is more than just a theatre company; it’s a community.  The group regularly get together socially and looks out for each other through the trials and tribulations of life.  Whilst they try not to take themselves too seriously, they absolutely take our theatre seriously!

The group constantly strive to improve their standards and ensure they offer loyal audiences value for money.  Show by show, year by year, they always aim to produce the most professional, slick and entertaining shows they possibly can!
