Thousands of people enjoyed the bonfire and fireworks display at Westbridge Park on Saturday 6th November.
Luckily, after a beautiful autumn day, the rain stayed away until an hour or so after the event had finished and spectators had been treated to a huge bonfire and great fireworks display.
There was no ‘theme’ to the fireworks display this year as in other years, just fireworks to the sound of songs including Coldplay and Take That.
Children enjoyed fairground rides and there was a good selection of food available, including a great oatcake stall! The queues to the various stalls and stands were certainly huge in the half-hour before the fireworks display began.
There was a huge crowd at the event, which seemed to be much larger than in previous years, no doubt helped by the day’s good weather.
It might have been a different story if the event had been held on Friday night – the actual Bonfire Night – which had turned out to be such a washout.
