A Little Bit of Stone recently launched a fuel price tracker, giving drivers a way to compare petrol and diesel prices across the town and at nearby forecourts.

You can find it on our Stone petrol and diesel prices page. Each Stone station also has its own price history and graphs, so you can see when prices changed and by how much.
Our first weekly review, covering Thursday 17 to Wednesday 23 September 2026, shows diesel prices rose at four of Stone’s five forecourts. Petrol rose at three stations, fell at Darlaston and remained unchanged at Walton roundabout Shell.
By the end of Wednesday, the cheapest diesel within the tracker’s 12-mile radius cost £4.95 less for a 55-litre fill than Stone’s cheapest option.

What changed at Stone’s forecourts
The tracker records every price change for standard petrol and diesel. To measure the week’s movement, we compared the price in place at the start of 17 September with the latest price recorded on 23 September.
All prices and changes are in pence per litre.
Fairway recorded the largest diesel increase, rising from 191.9p to 198.9p a litre. That added £3.85 to the cost of buying 55 litres. Its petrol price rose by 2p a litre.
Fillybrook’s diesel increased by 6p over the week, adding £3.30 to the same quantity. Its final increase came late on Wednesday evening, when diesel rose by 3p and petrol by 1p.
Morrisons also increased its diesel price on Wednesday evening, taking it to 194.9p. Across the week, its diesel rose by 3p and petrol by 1p a litre.
Darlaston reduced both fuels by 1p on Tuesday 22 September. That left its petrol cheaper than at the start of the week, although diesel still finished 2p higher after earlier increases.
Both prices at Walton roundabout Shell remained unchanged throughout the period.

- Tesco Hanley Extra

There were also differences between Morrisons sites. Diesel at Stoke and Goose Street finished at 191.9p, while Milehouse Lane was at 189.9p. Compared with Morrisons Stone, that meant differences of £1.65 and £2.75 respectively on 55 litres.
In Stafford, Tesco’s diesel was 193.9p, equivalent to 55p less on 55 litres than Morrisons Stone. Asda Stafford’s 194.7p was just 11p less on the same quantity.
For petrol, the gap between the cheapest options was much smaller. Asda Wolstanton’s 167.7p was just 1.2p below Darlaston, a difference of 66p on 55 litres.
These comparisons cover the fuel purchase itself. Any extra fuel used driving to another forecourt would reduce the saving.
